How do I get to school?
Weymouth is easy to get around and there is a very good bus service. We recommend that you buy a bus pass, which you can get at the school.
Which class will I be in?
On the first day you will do a short test and you will then be put in a class of the right level.
How many students are there in each class?
There is a maximum of 16 students in each class.
How many lessons will I have?
There are 20 lessons of 45 minutes a week, even when there is a public holiday. These lessons are from 09.00 to 12.30 with a 30-minute break in the middle, Monday to Friday.
What will I learn in the lessons?
Our main aim is to help you improve your English marks at school. What you actually learn will depend on how old you are, what you need at school, and where your weaknesses lie. If you have got problems with grammar, we will repeat and practise things like the tenses, adjectives, adverbs, if-clauses, reported speech, passive etc. Do you find it difficult giving accurate answers to questions about a text? Then we will teach you the art of answering such questions and go through the rules from "A to Z". Are you in a higher class, and find you get poor marks at school when you write summaries, essays, interpretations and characterisations? We will teach you the techniques involved with each of these.
I don't have to work too hard do I? - It is my holiday as well!
Oh yes - we expect you to work hard. But don't worry - the lessons in England are very different from those at your school. You might not believe that you can learn and have fun at the same time but anyone who comes on one of our courses soon realises that this is indeed true!
Who are the teachers?
The teachers are all trained to teach English as a foreign language and enjoy working with young people.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes, on the last day you will receive a certificate and a written report on the progress you have made during the course.
